At the moment I am living and working back in Oman and I love it! I'm so happy here! I'm working as a Grade 3 teacher. I am still in contact with a lot of my ABA friends around the world and in fact most of my closest friends at the moment here in Oman are also alumini!
I think there's something very special about friendships formed at ABA. I was touched at my younger brother's wedding recently, (William -class of 2008), that 3 of his old ABA friends had flown from the other side of the world to be there and others had travelled from within England.
I still always rave about ABA to anyone who will listen! I value it for the tremendous positive energy (a very rare and precious attribute in a school system!). I value it for the amount of space pupils received to explore and share who they were as people, and how they felt built-up and listened-to in this process, whilst building up and listening to others at the same time. A special memory? IB retreat (2002 & 2003) at Al Swadi (thank you all teachers who went for giving up your weekend; really those memories of quality time spent with the school community will stay with us forever!).
